This class is designed so that you are able to complete the course in your own way and on your own schedule. Accordingly, there are no mandatory sessions (in-person or virtual). At the same time, you may wish to attend one or more of the following optional sessions.
Orientation
An orientation session is scheduled for September 8, 13:00—14:30 (1:00 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.), Pacific Standard Time (PST). This session will one offered via Zoom; details will be sent via email.
Ross will discuss the course, answer questions, and assist in whatever way seems most useful.
Attendance at the orientation is not mandatory.
Open Sessions
Open sessions are opportunities for participants in the class to meet with the instructor via Zoom. Details will be sent via email. Four open sessions are scheduled for Fall 2021, as follows:
September 22, 19:00—20:00 (PST)
October 6, 13:00—14:00 (PST)
October 20, 13:00—14:00 (PST)
November 17, 13:00—14:00 (PST)
The sessions are scheduled during the weeks before projects are due, so that learners can focus their questions on those projects (if they choose). But overall, the open sessions are designed to be opportunities to discuss writing, creativity, and related matters. They are not lectures, and Ross will not be introducing new content that is not available in the Lab.
Attendance at open sessions is not mandatory.
